Our Story
Prose Kitchen & Bar grew from the vision of Chef David Gussin and his partner, Molly Gussin, who wrote a love letter to California’s vibrant ingredients and the joy of gathering around a table. David built his craft in acclaimed kitchens including STK, Fig & Olive, and Cleo before he and Molly launched their premier catering company, Food First Events. Today, the couple brings those culinary dreams home to their own Woodland Hills restaurant. Chef David Gussin built the menu at Prose after years in those kitchens. His approach here is simpler and more personal — dishes that let the ingredient speak first and the technique stay out of the way. Since opening, Prose has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Eater LA, KTLA, and the LA Daily News.
The menu moves with the seasons. Mainstays like the Cold Hamachi Crudo and Prime New York Strip sit alongside a rotating lineup of vegetable-forward plates that reflect what’s actually growing right now.

A 57-seat dining room anchored by caramel ostrich-leather booths and warm wood, opening onto a 30-seat patio built for long California evenings.
Distinctive Drink Program
Our bar offers a full spirits program alongside lower-ABV and zero-proof options. The cocktail list includes signature drinks as well as non-alcoholic creations made with house shrubs, syrups, and ferments. We also pour boutique California wines, lesser-known international bottles, and a rotating selection of local craft beer.
