What kind of food does Prose Kitchen & Bar serve?

Prose is a modern Californian / New American restaurant. We build a seasonal, farm-forward menu around what local growers have that week, with global influences running through the dishes. Because the menu evolves with the seasons, it changes often — no two visits taste quite the same.

What are your hours?

Dinner is served daily from 4:30 PM. Sunday through Thursday we're open until 9:00 PM; Friday and Saturday until 9:30 PM. Happy Hour runs daily from 4:30 to 6 PM. Weekend Brunch launches August 29, Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Do you take reservations?

Yes — book online through our Make a Reservation page. Walk-ins are welcome at the bar as space allows.

Where are you located, and is there parking?

Prose is at 21150 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91364. We have 24 dedicated parking spaces at 21195 Costanso Street, a quarter-block south of the restaurant, plus street parking nearby.

Do you host private events?

Yes. We have three private spaces — the Chapter Room, the Manuscript Room, and the Novel Room — plus a full restaurant buyout, accommodating groups from 12 to 100+ guests. See our Private Events page for details on each space.

What's required to book a private event?

A 50% deposit secures your date. Cancellations require 14 days' notice; deposits become non-refundable within 7 days of the event. Plated and family-style events require a minimum of 10 guests; reception-style events start at 15.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes — vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free accommodations are available with advance notice.

Do you have a corkage fee?

Corkage is $35 per bottle, with a maximum of two bottles.

Do you have gift cards or a loyalty program?

Yes. Gift cards are available for purchase, and you can join Prose Kitchen & Bar Rewards to earn points on every visit (1 point per $1 spent, $5 off every 75 points). Sign up for our email list separately for seasonal menu updates and offers.
